OFFICERS AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS Duties:

A Lions club is governed by a Board of Directors, normally consisting of a president as chief executive officer, the immediate past president, three vice presidents, a secretary, a treasurer, Lion tamers, tail-twisters, four or more directors, a membership director, retention chair and a marketing/social media chair. Officers are elected annually for a term coinciding with the association’s fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Directors are elected for two-year terms. Meetings of the board are usually held once each month. Dumas Noon Lions Club meet at 6:00 pm every 2nd Thursday of the month at our club building .

President:
The president serves as the club’s chief executive officer and presides at all meetings of the club and the board of directors. The president issues the call for regular and special meetings in accordance with the club’s by-laws or procedures, plans the agenda and ensures that the status of each committee activity is reported. It is also the responsibility of the president to see that regular elections are duly called, noticed and held. The president cooperates with, and is an active member of, the district governor’s advisory committee of the zone in which the club is located.

Vice Presidents:
In the event that the president should be unable to perform the duties of office for any reason, the 1st vice president next in rank occupies the position and performs the duties with the same authority as the president. We also refer to them as the Head wrangler, (also in charge of the next Dogie Days). Each vice president, under the direction of the president, oversees the functioning of various committees of the club.

Immediate Past President:
The immediate past president, along with other past presidents, serves as an official greeter of members and their guests at club meetings and represents the club in welcoming new people into the community served by the club.

Secretary:
The Secretary serves as the communication link between the Dumas Noon Lions Club, our District, and Lions Clubs International. Working under the direction of the President and Board of Directors, this role helps keep our club organized, informed, and operating efficiently.
Responsibilities include maintaining club records, preparing and submitting required reports, recording meeting minutes, and ensuring important information is shared accurately and on time. While much of the work happens behind the scenes, the Secretary helps preserve our club's history and keeps us connected at every level of Lionism.
A strong Secretary helps ensure our leaders have the information they need to make informed decisions and allows our club to focus on what matters most serving our communi
ty.

Treasurer:
The Treasurer plays a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity of the Dumas Noon Lions Club.
Working closely with our paid bookkeeper, the Treasurer oversees the club's finances by reviewing monthly financial reports, helping ensure records are accurate, and providing financial information to the Board of Directors. The Treasurer also serves as one of the authorized check signers, along with the President and First Vice President, helping provide accountability for the club's financial transactions.
Although much of this work happens behind the scenes, it is essential for the success of our club. Careful financial oversight ensures that every dollar entrusted to the Dumas Noon Lions Club is managed responsibly so we can continue serving our community.

Paid Bookkeeper/Invoicing:
The paid bookkeeper reports to the treasurer. They generates all checks to be signed and provides the treasurer with a monthly report on all accounts for the board meeting. Duties include receiving all monies and paying club obligations. Maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements and submitting financial reports. This is the only paid position besides our cooks and can not hold an officers position.

Lion Tamers:
The Lion Tamer is the custodian of our club's property and helps ensure every meeting is organized, welcoming, and ready to begin.
From arranging flags, banners, gavels, badge boards, and other meeting materials to displaying the club's organizational chart, Lion Tamers help create an environment that reflects the pride and traditions of Lionism.
Working alongside our Past Presidents as official greeters, they also welcome guests, assist members, and help ensure everyone has a place at the table. Their behind-the-scenes efforts help every meeting run smoothly so members can focus on fellowship, service, and making a difference in our community.
It's a role built on hospitality, organization, and pride in our club.

Tail-Twisters:
The Tail Twister helps create an atmosphere where fellowship, laughter, and Lion spirit thrive.
By encouraging good feelings, maintaining harmony, and adding a little friendly fun to each meeting, the Tail Twister helps make our time together enjoyable and engaging. While they are responsible for imposing and collecting fines, their real purpose is to build camaraderie and strengthen the bonds of friendship among our members.
A successful Tail Twister knows how to keep things lighthearted, encourage participation, and remind us that serving others is even more meaningful when we enjoy serving together.
Their enthusiasm helps turn ordinary meetings into memorable ones.

Membership Director:
The Membership Chair serves as the leader of the club's Membership Committee and plays a vital role in the future of the Dumas Noon Lions Club.
This position focuses on building a strong, active club by developing membership growth programs, encouraging prospective members to become Lions, and helping new members feel welcomed through orientation and involvement. The Membership Chair works to ensure every new Lion understands our mission, traditions, and the many opportunities to serve.
A healthy, growing membership allows our club to expand its impact and continue meeting the needs of our community. By inviting others to join us in service, the Membership Chair helps strengthen both our club and the communities we serve.
Every new member brings new ideas, new energy, and new opportunities to serve.

Retention Chair:
A strong Lions Club isn't just built by welcoming new members—it's strengthened by caring for the members we already have.
The Retention Chair helps keep our club connected by reaching out to members who may no longer be attending meetings or who are considering leaving the club. Sometimes a simple conversation can identify a challenge, answer a question, or reconnect a member with the fellowship and service that make Lionism so rewarding.
The Retention Chair also maintains weekly attendance records, reports attendance trends to the Board of Directors, and works with the club's bookkeeper to contact members whose dues are past due.
Every Lion brings unique talents, experience, and a heart for service. By helping members stay engaged and involved, the Retention Chair plays an important role in preserving the strength and future of the Dumas Noon Lions Club.

Marketing/Social Media Chair:
Every service project, fundraiser, meeting, and community partnership tells the story of the Dumas Noon Lions Club. The Marketing & Social Media Chair helps ensure those stories are shared with our members and our community.
This role is responsible for the club's communications through our Facebook and Instagram pages and our website. By highlighting our service, celebrating our members, promoting upcoming events, and sharing the impact of our work, the Marketing & Social Media Chair helps keep our club connected and visible.
Members are encouraged to follow our social media pages and visit our website regularly to stay informed about club news, upcoming events, and opportunities to serve.
